Shiva Shlokas
SHLOKA
Shlokas glorifying Lord Shiva — recited during daily puja, abhishek and on Mondays.
Karpur Gauram
कर्पूरगौरं करुणावतारं संसारसारं भुजगेन्द्रहारम्।
सदा वसन्तं हृदयारविन्दे भवं भवानीसहितं नमामि॥
Karpura-Gauram Karunavataram, Samsara-Saram Bhujagendra-Haram, Sada Vasantam Hridayaravinde, Bhavam Bhavani-Sahitam Namami.
Meaning: I bow to Shiva — white as camphor, the embodiment of compassion, the essence of existence, garlanded by the king of serpents — who dwells forever in the lotus of the heart, together with Bhavani.
This shloka is traditionally recited at the close of aarti, with a lit diya moving in gentle circles before the deity.
